Brianna N Hernandez
Brianna N Hernandez (she/her) is a Ph.D. Candidate in the International Relations program at Florida International University and earned her MA in International Studies en-route. In addition to pursuing her Ph.D., she has completed FIU certificates in Women and Gender Studies and in National Security Studies.She is a World Wildlife Fund Panda Ambassador, member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and on the International Studies Association NE Council.
She is interested in the role of language as a product and producer of the actors and actions studied in international relations as well as the construction(s) of various power dynamics. Brianna’s dissertation work exists at a nexus of environmentalism, feminism, and governance.Brianna believes that if we subvert conventional and problematic binaries, then we can work towards a reality where discourses and policy measures appropriately address the complex realities of agency, vulnerability, security, conflict, peace, and governance.
