Anvita Pandey

Anvita Pandey is the Coordinator and Fellow of the Centre for Ecology Development and Research, Dehradun, India. She is a Forest Ecologist and has been working in the Western Himalayan region for almost a decade. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and was an INSPIRE Fellow awarded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

She participated in COP 24 held at Katowice, Poland and discussed on issues related to Gender and Climate Change. She has worked with University of Cambridge on projects focusing on water security under the Ecosystem Services and Poverty Alleviation (ESPA) programme. She has also worked with the University on Disaster Management project through community participation in the Himalayas. She has received “Young Scientist Award” by the State Government for her work in forestry. She has also received “Ecological Research Award” for her publication as “Excellent paper” by Ecological Society of Japan (https://esj-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/14401703/homepage/ecological_research_paper_award_2020).

Her work mainly focuses on water security, forestry, ecosystem services, urban governance policy pertaining to the environment and urbanization, urban legal policy frameworks, urban development and environment protection mechanism
