Fellows

Joshua Miguel Lopez is an engineer and organizer who focuses on developing decentralized and polycentric networks for climate action, digital transformation, rural development, and youth leadership. 

 

He is the Founder and Chairperson of Reboot Philippines, a nationwide youth-led organization advocating for a just and democratic energy transition to 100% renewable energy. Reboot PH’s programs range from mainstreaming climate and energy education in formal education, aiding communities to integrate renewable energy in their livelihoods, organizing regional energy transition hubs, and mentoring young communicators and advocates, among others. Joshua also works as a Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator for the Global Youth Energy Outlook, a global research project that identifies what the youth want for the future of energy. 

 

Joshua has also organized the Collaboratory for Young Leaders of Democracy, a network of 10 local coalitions aiming to form young democratic leaders for public office. He has previously worked in government in planning the Philippines’ flagship digital transformation program, and was a Director of Operations of a technology startup. He also presented and facilitated in the Vienna Energy Forum, Just Transition Forum in Asia, and other conferences in Europe and Asia. 

 

He is a licensed mining engineer and is currently finishing his master’s degree in public management, focusing on local energy planning. He is a fellow of the Academy of Political Management, the Global Shapers Community – Manila Hub, and Climate Reality.
